SA国际传媒视频鈥檚 Drop for Non-Payment procedure is the administrative process
by which students are disenrolled from classes and removed from waitlists when they
do not pay the fees owed for the class.
Why Do We Do It?
We are committed to supporting your success. Students incur financial obligation when
enrolling in class. By dropping students from unpaid classes, we prevent the student
from accumulating debt owed to the college.
When Does this Happen?
Students are required to pay their fees within 10 days of registering for courses each term to avoid being dropped.
For Fall 2026, students who have an outstanding balance of $200 or more on August 17, 2026, may be dropped from their classes. To avoid being dropped, students must reduce
their outstanding balance to less than $200 by August 13, 2026.
The Fall 2026 enrollment freeze date is July 27, 2026. Students who register after July 27 will not be included in the August 17 drop for nonpayment and will instead be subject to the
standard 10-day payment deadline for newly added courses.
Some student populations are exempt from the drop for nonpayment process. Please review
the exempt populations below.
This process helps prevent students from accumulating debt while ensuring seats remain
available for students waiting to enroll.

No, you do not have to pay your entire balance at once. You can use the online payment
system to make multiple payments between now and August 13th at 12pm. If your balance is NOT below $200, you will be dropped on August 17th.
Students who owe less than $200 on August 13th, will NOT be dropped on August 17th. Though you will not be dropped, you are encouraged to pay your balance in full.
At this time, SA国际传媒视频 does not offer formal payment plans. However, you
are welcome to log into the online payment systems as many times as needed between
now and Wednesday, August 13th at 12pm to make payments to ensure your account balance is under $200. If you owe
$200 or more on August 17th, you will be dropped.
Consider only taking the number of units that you can pay for this Fall and create
a budget plan in preparation for future terms.
Only students who owe $200 or more will be dropped on August 17th. We encourage all students to pay any unpaid balances as soon as possible to avoid
future holds or drops.
Students are required to pay their fees within 10-days of registering for courses
each term to avoid being dropped and/or holds being placed on their accounts. This
process prevents students from accumulating debt and ensures seat availability for
others wanting to register for the course. Some student populations are exempt from
this process (see exempt student populations).
If you submitted the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and/or the California
Dream Act Application, you will not be dropped from classes for non-payment.
If you are using the educational benefits listed above, you may be protected from
being dropped for non-payment while your funding is pending. To receive this protection,
you must contact the Veteran Resource Center (VRC) and complete the required certification
steps for the current semester. Outstanding balances from previous semesters or charges
unrelated to VA benefits, or Cal Vet, may still impact your enrollment.
Please contact the VRC as soon as possible if you intend to use these educational
benefits or if you have questions regarding balances. Call (661) 395-4312 or email veterans@bakersfieldcollege.edu.
What Happens If You're Dropped
If you received confirmation that you were part of population of students that were
exempt from the Aug 17th drop, but were dropped anyway, please contact Admissions & Records to discuss further.
After being dropped on August 17, you may re-enroll in a course if there is space,
but you will need to ensure payment is made within 10 days of re-adding the course
to avoid an outstanding balance and future holds or drops.
If you pay your balance of $200 or more after August 13th, and are dropped on August 17th, you will not be automatically re-enrolled in your fall classes. Once your balance
is paid, you are welcome to try to register for Fall courses based on what is left
available at that time.
If you did not pay your balance by August 13th at 12pm and were dropped on August
17, and now there are no seats left in your previous classes, you will have to wait
for a future term to try to secure a seat in the course.
No, the drop for non-payment occurs on August 17th, prior to the start of the Fall term and the date any course would be notated on
official record.
